MOTHMAN Cocoon White Tea is a Malawian Hand-Rolled Zomba Pearl White Tea sourced from Satemwa Estate in Malawi. This extraordinary white tea can be re-steeped 12+ times, slowly unfurling its tea leaves to unveil new aromas and tastes with each subsequent brew. MOTHMAN exudes a mellow orchid scent, and a subtle infusion of citrus notes imparts a layer of brightness to the tea. Picture a hint of lemon or bergamot, contributing to a zesty and invigorating flavor profile.
Beneath the surface of this mellow white tea, intricate layers of complexity unfold, revealing a dark and mineral-rich quality with herbaceous undertones. This quality adds depth to the tea, and while not overpowering, it provides a grounded, earthy base that enhances the overall complexity as the steeping journey progresses.
1. Heat water to around 185°F (85°C). Avoid using boiling water, as it can scorch the delicate white tea leaves.
2. Use 3-6 MOTHMAN Cocoons per 8 ounces (240 ml) of water. Adjust the quantity based on your taste preferences.
3. Pour a small amount of hot water into your teapot or infuser to warm it. Swirl the water around, then discard it.
4. Place the MOTHMAN Cocoons into the preheated teapot or infuser.
5. Pour the hot water over the MOTHMAN Cocoons, ensuring that they are fully submerged.
6. Let the tea steep for about 3 to 4 minutes. White teas generally have shorter steeping times compared to other types of tea to maintain their delicate flavors.
7. Once the steeping time is complete, carefully pour the tea into your cup, straining out the leaves.
8. MOTHMAN can be re-steeped multiple times. Gradually increase the steeping time with each subsequent infusion, enjoying the evolving flavors.
Feel free to adjust the steeping parameters based on your personal preferences, experimenting with water temperature and steeping time to find the perfect balance that suits your taste.
